The item(s) detailed in this listing are from a collection of a
Very Senior Officer in a branch of the United States Armed Forces, Historian, and Author
and he has been collecting for almost 75 ++ Years. Many of the items I am listing are extremely rare and are museum type pieces.  I am not an expert in this area so I called upon a military historian to assist me with what is being listed (description) and a approx. current market price for the item(s). He provided me with some historical context,  however some items were extremely rare and he never viewed anything like it or similar to it before.
What's is in this listing:
M1912 CAVALRY PICKET PIN used
by the US Cavalry. It was a tent peg/stake and hammer??? it comes with the original leather carrying case that could be strapped on the the saddle or somewhere on the horse. The very heavy stake/hammer measures approx 13 3/4 inches long. The original matching sheath measures approx 13 1/2 inches, the only makings I can find is on the strap of the sheath and it looks to be  = 1  0 4 ...... 8.  the hammer/.stake has some wear as well as the sheath, the sheath is in remarkable condition considering the age and what it went through.
If you are a serious collector and serious about the item, you can provide me with a reasonable/serious offer.
