This Table runner has the center design made from imported African Mud Cloth and the colors are soft and gorgeous! The hand of the fabric is very soft. It has slight variation in shade and design which shows the hand of the maker. The colors are muted orange, raisin, pale yellow, brown and deep blue. The border fabric is Kona cotton solids. The back is a Kaffe Fassett print called Aboriginal dot.
This piece would look lovely on a table, coffee table, as a wall hanging or across the foot of a bed.
This table runner has been lightly quilted with a simple design. The batting is a high quality 80% cotton and 20% poly combination. It was made with care in My Miami studio which is pet and smoke free.
SIZE: This runner measures 43 inches long and 16.5 inches wide.
ABOUT Authentic MUD CLOTH: The vibrant and beautiful designs are created by painting with fermented mud or sludge. The cloth is first dyed using tea leaves, bark and branches, then dried in the sun. The beautiful Patterns each have cultural, historic and geographic significance. Many referring to historical battles, mythological concepts or Malian proverbs. They are painted onto the cloth with mud and then washed. The process is repeated to create different patterns and hues.
