    Description

    French Baccarat Cobalt Pressed Glass Sand & Garland Pattern Dessert Plate C.1840
    19th century French pressed cobalt flint glass dessert plate. The pattern is pictured on page 45 of the Launay Hautin catalog for 1840 with a description of Dessert Assielle for sizes between 6 to 8 inches, No 1705, and the pattern name or description "sableu et guirlande" which translates to Sand & Garland. Launay & Hautin were a retailer for Baccarat and other French glass manufacturers. Probably Baccarat, but could possibly be one of the other manufacturers retailed by Launay & Hautin.
    Has several chips to the foot rim, but otherwise good condition.
    Measures approximately 7 inches wide.
    This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
