Antique Baccarat France Cut Crystal Launay Hautin 11 1/4" Decanter c. 1840

Description

Offering an antique Baccarat (attr.), France, cut crystal 11 1/4" tall decanter. Illustrated in Launay Hautin & Cie 1840 catalog. I'm not sure if the stopper is original, it fits well. The illustration shows a different stopper, however, this stopper is pictured on other decanters in the catalog. Finely polished pontil on the base. Bubbles in the glass, light surface scratches, moderate shelf wear on the base, discoloration on the interior base from use, and shallow chips on the underside edge of the stopper. I tend to think the stopper is either original or "of period". Under UV light both the bottle and stopper glow an identical pale soft green.
