    Description

    18" x 19" Piece of Silk Gauze
    Brand New * 32 count
This listing is for a fat quarter yard of stitching fabric/canvas made of real silk (18" x 19"). It's woven with an interlock method that makes it sturdy, not prone to raveling and easy to stitch on. The threads are fine and the holes large and it's easier to see than most people realize. It's wonderful for stitching miniature samplers, rugs and cushions for doll houses as well as pieces that you just want to be more delicate and wonderful. I've shown a 5" x 5" framed floral design stitched on 14 count Aida and the same chart stitched on 32 count silk gauze.
You use 2 strands of embroidery floss to stitch and a size 28 tapestery needle. The little hydrangea is stitched using a tent stitch (1/2 cross stitch) which has the advantage of having only half of the stitching of the same design worked in cross stitch. The chart for this design isn't included but is available on the SerendipityDesigns website. The silk gauze is new and in the original packaging. Check my eBay store for the finer 40 count silk.
